Thank you for supporting our West Broad Farmers Market!

The original location of the West Broad Market was the historic West Broad School on the corner of West Broad and Minor Street. With the blessing of African-American Community Leaders, support of the Clarke County School District, and funding from USDA, Athens Land Trust began developing the site of the West Broad school for a community market garden and farmer’s market in 2012. The market ran until December 2019 when our lease ended.

Thanks to the support of several USDA and CDBG grants, we continue our market today at our new location and support microenterprises in Athens with this market opportunity, biannual Grow Your Business classes, and one on one coaching for vendors.

In the past our farmers market was held in person each Saturday from May to December and we have changed the format of our market due to the public health concerns of Covid-19. We want to ensure we are acting responsibly to ensure our vendors, customers, and community members are safe and we are not responsible for the spread of Covid. We have had some in person markets in 2021 and more are planned for 2022. Check out our website for more information or any updates. www.athenslandtrust.org
